This Place
This place will eat you alive
and you'll find out when it's too late
Swallowing you so slow, so you don't know,
That it's even happening
Birthday cakes balance lead paint flakes
We don't mean any harm,
But that's all it takes.
If you've been wondering why you lost your mind,
In your control all the time
Suspended in reality
Paralyzed just like a tree
We're only
The soil's growing toxic
While the oil's seeping in
We're busy
Overthrowing and becoming them
Ween me off the earth
Take me from my mother
As the forest dies
Sell it out to one another
Over and over again
Following that slight of hand
We accomplish nothing while we
Think we're doing all we can
Work to keep the cable on
Pump it into all of our homes
It's completely natural
Watching us collapse it all
This is one of the most high-energy, fun albums to come out of the Philadelphia region in recent memory. In addition to lighthearted, slice-of-life bars, Kahlil Ali tackles real, serious topics with grace. em b.
This band is unique, you don't need to listen very long to realize that. It's a very fine line, the art of chaos with the beauty of melodies and riffs - these individuals walk it perfectly! I just wish there was more albums. Thomas D
